Guest Speaker 9. Ed McCarthy “Canadian Rangers”

This group is a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and is utilized for their bush skills in the north. They have been around since the late 70’s. One of their valuable contributions is the ability to be self-sufficient and to mobilize quickly for assignments. They found it cost effect to have a local group equipped to do this work than to use personnel from bases. There are groups located in High level, Fort Vermillion, Peace River, Valley View, and Grande Cash. The intention of this group is not to replace Search and Rescue but to do the work of the Armed Forces in the north when asked. You need to be 18 years or older to consider being apart of this specialize group and be able to pass a criminal record check.
